  • Once the registration page is open on December 1, 2025, you can access the registration form. Please fill out ALL required information. Once you have submitted the form, you will be sent to the payment page to e-transfer your registration fee. Once we have both your registration form and registration fee, you will recieve a confirmation email from us.  

  • Piano and Strings

    • 7-10 years old: $70.00

    • 11-14 years old: $90.00

    • 15-18 years old: $105.00

    • 19-28 years old: $120.00

    Woodwinds & Brass

    • Level 4-5: $70.00

    • Level 6-7: $90.00

    • Level 8-9: $105.00

    • Level Advanced: $120.00

  • Yes - If you decide to withdraw your application, you can get a full refund up until Februrary 14th, 2026, 11:59p.m. After this date, there will be no refunds issued. 

  • The tentative schedule is on the website (https://www.pathwaysprogram.ca/schedule), where you can check the general schedule according to your age category and instrument. We will have the detailed schedule up on the same site a month before the start of the Pathways Program.

  • Once registration closes, you can make changes up until the deadline of February 14, 2025 at 11:59pm. NO changes will be accepted after this date. Please email info@pathwaysprogram.ca to request a correction. 

  • A. NO changes to the schedule will be made after the detailed schedule is complete. Any schedule requests MUST be submitted by email to info@pathwaysprogram.ca by February 14, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Please check your schedule carefully before you register for the Pathways Program.

  • The registration closes on January 24, 2026, at 11:59pm. Late entry applications may be considered up to January 31, 2026 at 11:59pm, pending on spaces available. Requests must be made in writing to info@pathwaysprogram.ca. If accepted, there will be a $50.00 late fee charge added. 

  • You will need to follow the age eligibility and repertoire requirements as outlined in the applicable instrument syllabus. You must indicate your concerto selection to be performed at the National Finals competition on the registration form.   • All recommendations will be made by our Pathways clinicians. You will need to follow the age eligibility and repertoire requirements as outlined in the applicable instrument syllabus. For further rules and syllabus information, please check the AMFA website: https://www.albertamusicfestival.org/

  • You can play as many selections as you’d like to program within the time limit indicated for your age category. The requirements to be considered for the CMC National Finals or the AMFA Provincial Festival are the MINIMUM you need to include in your program.  

  • Yes, you can still participate in the Pathways Program. Please have your teacher submit a recommendation to info@pathwaysprogram.ca.

  • You must provide your own collaborative pianist. Any works not written for a solo instrument must be performed with a collaborative pianist. Pathways Program offers to cover up to $100 for the Junior (Level 4-7) and $150 for the Senior (Level 8-Advanced) for collaborative pianists.  Any additional cost is up to the participants to cover. If you are in need of a collaborative pianist, please contact our project coordinator, at info@pathwaysprogram.ca. 

  • Yes - you must bring a copy of each piece you’ll be performing in performance order. Please remember to mark your measures directly on your score at the beginning of each line and bind any loose pages together in a folder/binder. 

  • Scarboro United Church: 134 Scarboro Ave SW, Calgary Alberta.

  • Enter at the front door of the sanctuary which faces south. You will then be directed to your venue by the front desk attendant. Please park at the back of the church.

  • NO - This helps ensure fairness and neutrality for all participants and prevents any pre-performance conversations from influencing their assessment. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak with the on-site coordinator or a volunteer beforehand. You’re more than welcome to chat with the clinician at the conclusion of that days category performance.

  • Yes – The space assigned to you will be subject to the classes going on in the surrounding venues in the church at that time. 

  • YES! All Pathways performances are open to the public. Please invite your friends, family, and teachers to come watch and support you. Pathways Program is dedicated to providing a performance opportunity to its participants while giving insightful and educational feedback from our highly qualified clinicians. You are asked to stay for the your group’s feedback session after your performance is finished.  

  • Yes, you are welcome to record your own performance. We kindly ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

    1. If you are recording with a mobile device, please ensure it is set to silent mode.

    2. Recording must be done from behind the clinician and in a manner that does not obstruct their view of the performance.

    3. Recording of other participants is strictly prohibited unless consent has been obtained from their parent/guardian or from the participant themselves (if they are 18 years of age or older).

  • We will have the results a few days after the Pathways Program classes end. Students recommended to the National Finals/ Provincials will be contacted no later than April 22, 2026.
